What are NFTs?

NFTs are blowing up if you haven’t heard of them before you most definitely live under a rock. Or you just live in the woods. Or you have been backpacking out in the boonies for a couple years. Either way, NFTs are here to stay.

What does NFT stand for? Non-fungible token. What does non-fungible mean? Unique or one of a kind.

But people say they are only JPEGs? But they are so much more, they are digital assets similar to baseball cards or other collectibles. This is key to understanding the value within NFTs. People can have a picture of the baseball card but they don’t own it so it doesn’t mean anything or have any worth, this is the same for NFTs.

NFTs are about community. A community built around NFTs brings people together. This is the design and idea behind Cairn Chasing. Bring hikers, climbers, outdoors enthusiasts, etc together in one spot to share ideas, make friends, and go on adventures. We want you to feel part of something, somewhere you belong, somewhere you can find support.

NFTs provide the means to build Cairn Chasing in a unique and novel way by providing a way to remember places you have visited and adventures you have taken. Cairn Chasing aims to bring people together to explore the amazing outdoors we all love.

Cairn Chasing is about community, bonding over our love for the great outdoors. This is the real purpose of NFTs.
